I am heart broken to hear of Bill's passing, and my deepest sympathies and loving waves go out to Ardy, Tim, Cindy, Jeanie and Rosie. He was a treasure, and will continue to be so in spirit. The picture You all chose of Bill to remember him by is so very epically symbolic of his spirit.
I remember thinking, when first meeting Bill, at the beginning of Tim and Cindy's courtship, that... I wished he was my Grandpa too:) And lucky for me, visiting Waukegan to see my grandparents and Cindy often DID mean a visit to Tim, Bill and Ardy's as well. Bill was a very rare person. He'd immediately make you feel welcome with his inviting, generous and silly humor. He had a WONDER to him. A child like joy that I sensed as a young girl. He felt like a kindred spirit. And grandest and most magical of all was his train collection which he LOVED to share with my brother Colin and me when we'd visit. Throughout my life, whenever in a toy store, I attribute my fascination of trains and of miniature model worlds with Bill. Every train that passes I think of Bill. And will continue to do so.
I feel blessed that last visit I made to IL from California that I got to see Bill. His humor and soul were as bright as ever even amidst discomfort. I am in awe of Bill's strength and love and resolve, and grateful he got to spend his final days with the loves of his life. I miss you and love you, Bill. Thank you for being such a beautiful part of mine, and so many of our life journeys. And thank you for watching over us now. I welcome YOUR presence at all times.
Love you and thinking of you, Tim, Ardy, Cindy, and Jeanie.

I'd like to express my deep sympathy to the Kasper family. Thinking back to my memories of Bill, I always remembered the amazing train set he had in his basement. When TIm and Cindy were first together I visited Ardy & Bill's house frequently, and the room with the train set was where I wanted to spend all of my time. Bill was always willing to teach me about the various pieces, and let me play with the switches, transformer, and steam engines (which were my favorite). It speaks to his character, trust, and playful attitude that he would share such a fantastic set with the young nephew of his daughter-in-law; and its something I've never forgotten.
Bill was a loving husband, father, and grandfather; which was clear to see both when I was young and also during our most recent visit last year at Jeanie's graduation. May Bill rest in peace, and may his spirit live on in the hearts of those whom he brought joy to throughout all his years.

I wanted to express my deepest sympathy to the Kasper family. Bill always had a smile on his face and a hearty laugh. He really enjoyed life. But mostly, I know he dearly loved Ardy, Tim, Cindy and Jeanie (and Rosie). He was a gentle and kind man, and will be greatly missed. The Kasper family is in our hearts and prayers in these times of losing one so loved. Peace be with you Bill. Love from Doug, Kathleen and the family.

Bill will be missed by Belkys and me. I still remember ushering with him in the 1990's. He was a kind and humble man.
