Obituary of David Robinson

SFC David G. Robinson, 28, of El Paso, TX, and formerly of Winthrop Harbor, IL, died on October 25, 2011, while serving with the United States Army in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. David was born December 22, 1982, in Lake Forest, IL, and graduated from St. Joseph's High School in Kenosha, WI. He married Emily Rode on February 14, 2003, having met her when they were both employed at Six Flags in Gurnee. David was a loving husband and father. He was a dedicated soldier. An avid Chicago Cubs and Bears fan, he also enjoyed golfing. Survivors include his wife Emily; sons, Matthew and Jackson; father and mother, Dennis and Marijo Robinson of Winthrop Harbor, IL; brothers, Gregory (Lora) Robinson of Zion, IL, and Michael (Leah) Robinson of Kenosha, WI; father-in-law Chris(Jorry) Rode of Somers, WI; mother-in-law, Theresa Rode of Concord, CA; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a brother, Joseph Paul Robinson. A Funeral Mass will be held on Tuesday, November 8, 2011, at 10:00 a.m. at Our Lady of Humility Church, 10655 W. Wadsworth Rd., Beach Park. Interment will follow at Ascension Cemetery, Libertyvillle, IL. Visitation will be Monday, November 7, 2011, from 5:00-9:00 p.m at Congdon Funeral Home, 3012 Sheridan Rd., Zion, IL. Per the family's request, for those attending the Visitation, please wear Chicago Bears attire in honor of David. A memorial fund is being established at PNC Bank under "Sons of SFC Robinson Fund".
