Lina passed away on April 23, 2020 at Advocate Aurora Condell Hospital after her fight with COVID-19.
Lina was a 1966 graduate from Arellano High School and studied Accounting from Far Eastern University. In 1963, she met her husband, Miguel Shahagun Lopez. They married on Sept. 23, 1971 and later moved to the United States in 1978.
For many years, Rosalina worked at PMC, The Galley Navel Base and Baxter/Alliance/Cardinal Healthcare. She worked hard to provide for her loving family & enjoyed working where she met her closest friends. After she retired in 2015, she spent most of her time doing what she loved most; being with family & friends, cooking, baking & traveling. She was passionate about being in the kitchen where you tasted her love through her famous dishes. Her favorite time were the holidays and it’s festivities. She traveled to numerous countries and brought back stories from each one. More importantly, she cherished all her trips back to her hometown in the Philippines when she spent time with her family. Lina was an active member of The Filipino Mass Ministry, and an officer for The Filipino American Association of Northern Illinois (FAANI). Lina enjoyed watching Wheel of Fortune, Price is Right, and Filipino dramas. She was a fan of Manny Pacquiao and Kevin Durant.
