Obituary of Lillian Garrett
Lillian Garrett (DeWitt) of Waukegan, IL fell asleep in death at home on April 19, 2020 at 85 years of age.
Lillian was born in Chicago, Il in December 1934. Her family moved to North Chicago in 1939 where she lived for the next 71 years in the house her father built, before moving to Waukegan. She married Billy Garrett September 4, 1953. Lillian dedicated her life to Jehovah God and was baptized as one of Jehovah’s Witnesses in July 1967. She faithfully attended The Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses in North Chicago for many years and loved sharing the good news about God’s Kingdom with her neighbors. Lillian also loved cooking (so good!), sewing, quilting, and playing in the dirt planting flowers. Her door was always open to her family and any family in need. She loved helping anyone in any way she could.
Lillian is survived by her children, Richard (Terri) Garrett, Roseann Garrett, Randall (Debra) Garrett, Rebecca Garrett; her brother, James (Celina) DeWitt; 5 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and 3 nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 45 years, Billy Garrett; her son, Robert Garrett; and her grand-daughter, Lindsay Garrett.
