I worked with Karen in Zion School District Superintendents office for six years. Karen and I shared many things besides work. We could always anticipate what the other wanted before they asked for it. We both lost our sisters months apart and shared our sorrow. Once the mail boy found us laughing in the office and said "you two are like sisters." And we were. i wish I had kept in touch after I left. I think it just hurt too much to miss Zion. She loved her family and all Zion children. I'm sure we'll laugh again some day.

Karen was a friend and classmate who added to any of our girls' luncheons at least once a year. Great smile and a sense of humor. She had so many gifts to share. She will be missed by all of us and we know her family will surely miss her, but know she is in God's arms. Hugs to all

I am saddened to learn of Karen's passing. She was such a kind and caring person. She always greeted everyone with her warm smile at the Superintendent office and at Kern's. She made time to get know every person. I started teaching in Zion SD 6 and she was helpful in answering my questions and was efficient in getting things completed. I enjoyed receiving phone calls from her as she reminded me to get my furnace and AC checked and serviced, when she worked at Complete Comfort Care and Kerns. She is missed.
Condolences and prayers to her family.

I student taught the first day Beulah Park School opened. She was the secretary and was kind, patient, and caring to this newbie! I went on working with her for 34 years! She never changed! She always had a genuine smile and loved her job, students, teachers, and the principals loved her efficiency! Why she became the Superintendent’s Secretary! She will always be in my heart!
