Obituary of Sally Jane Budlong
Sally Jane Budlong (nee Anderson) went to be with Jesus, her Savior and with her parents and husband, November 28, 2019. She was born in Detroit, Michigan on May 23, 1936 along with her twin sister, Ellen. She married Lloyd Budlong in Zion, Illinois in 1954. They later moved to New Hampshire where she lived until moving back to Zion, Illinois in 2015.
Sally had a long, successful Career in secretarial work and spent many years working at People’s United Bank in Windsor, Vermont where she retired in her early 70’s. Sally loved her work and was loved by her clients. She was extremely devoted to her husband through his difficult illness.
She also was a very gifted pianist playing in churches and in such prestigious places as Hanover Inn in Hanover, New Hampshire and Woodstock Inn in Woodstock, Vermont. She loved to encourage people and was always interested in hearing people’s personal stories. In recent years, Sally lived at two Assisted Living Places; Outreach House in Hanover, New Hampshire and Barton Senior Residences in Zion, Illinois. She played the piano for the residents at both places and was very appreciated. All the staff and residents at Hillcrest Nursing Facility where she spent the last year of her life love and miss her. Since 2015 she was a member of the Zion Faith Home church in Zion, Illinois where she had attended as a young person.
She is survived by her sisters, Gail Anderson of Zion, Illinois, Ellen Anderson of Clovis, CA, Nephews Mark (Kathy) Anderson of Clovis, CA and Mic (Cindy) Anderson, Fresno and great niece and nephew. She is preceded in death by her husband Floyd Budlong, parents Hazel and William Wesley Anderson.
A Memorial Service is tentatively planned for March 2020 at the Zion Faith Homes in Zion, Illinois.
