I was so shocked to find out that Hamp had passed away in October 2011. We grew up together from Sunday School at Presbyterian Church in Glen Ellyn to being Homecoming dates Junior year at Glenbard West, to meeting again in later life and dating in 2000. We went to his cabin in Ontario, Las Vegas, grilled out at his house and mine, and loved telling old stories of classmates at GBW. What a dear friend I have lost. I am so glad that he found love again when he married Emily. God Bless You,Hampy!

I've known Hamp since 1975 when I started working at Abbott. We were a close knit family. Hamp always had a smile on his face. He was ready to lend a hand to anyone that needed it. Those were great years. I wish Hamp had more time to enjoy his retirement that he worked so hard for. He was a great guy and us ol' timers will remember the great memories we shared with him. My heart goes out to his family and all those that called him "my friend". He will be greatly missed.

I was deeply saddened to learn of Hamp's death and I would like to express to you my sincere sadness and sympathies to you and your family at this difficult time. I work at Abbott in the Columbus, Ohio location. The Appreciation for Hampton extends to Ohio. I became acquainted with Hamp from other workers in the Columbus facility long before I met him. I began working with him at Abbott from Columbus over the phone, and e-mail. I appreciated him dearly, and doubt that will ever leave me. He would take the time to rearrange his life to come to Ohio for days to Train and Assist me with the automation of the system in Columbus, and do the same to make the time available to have me come to Chicago so he could demonstrate and explain the automation in place on their systems. He was so unselfish, happy, and caring. He was a wonderful, remarkable man and will be missed. With Sincere Sympathy to his family and friends.

I was so sad to hear of Hamp's passing. I used to sit near Hamp in AP14 and he was such a nice guy. He invited me and a co-worker to his picnic one year to enjoy his delicious deep fried turkey. He was such a big tough guy but it always made me smile when he talked to his Mom on the phone because his voice would be so gentle and patient. My deepest sympathy to his family and friends.

Heart felt condolences to Hampton's family and friends. We always looked forward to visiting with Hamp and the numerous friends and family, that he brought with him to the Kenora cottage every spring and summer for the past 15 years. That was Hamp-generous and kind and wanting others to experience the peacefulness of lake life. The Santiago family was fortunate to have known you and call you a friend. You will be missed but not forgotten. Raj, Khalida, Sam and Sumathi Santiago. Winnipeg, MB;Canada

I worked with Hamp for almost 30 years at Abt Labs and will always remember those trying times. He was the only person in my life to call me by my initials, "WAS". I will miss him. My heart goes out to his family. He was truly a great individual.

Hamp was a great man. I remember when we were little going to the farm and spending time up there. Building the barn was the best part as well as riding the horses. Now cleaning the chicken coop wasn't the greatest. He always showed us how things were done country style since we were city kids. He will be truely missed. God Bless you Hamp and you are in a better place. Our sincere thoughts go out to Cari my cousin, we are here for you. Love you.

Hamp; I had only known you about a year, but I know what a nice guy you were, we had a lot of fun joking around in the pool at the lodge. We in the class will all miss your smiling face and quiet demeanor! May God welcome you with open arms, as you were one of his finer creations! May he also bless your family in this time of sorrow.

My condolences go out to all of Hamp's family and loved ones. We are never ready to have those we love leave us. May the words and actions of others at this time be a healing balm to your souls. Hamp was one of those I would call a true gentleman. Even when surrounded by those who were anything but, Hamp always was.

Tony and I will always remember our American Family member. We shared some great times at the cottage, you'll be sadly missed. Our heart and prayer go out to Hampton's family. He was an easy going, calm, and polite man. We meet Hampton back in 1997 when he became our lake neighbor. We shared many of meals and spent lots of time catching fish. We'll miss you Hampton and you'll forever be in our hearts....Linda & Tony Russell-Winnipeg Canada

Jackson, you were one of a kind and I am glad that I was one of the lucky ones who had the pleasure of knowing you and calling you family. I was honored you stood up at our wedding, made sure my tie looked nice before, and handed your daughter off to me. You meant more to us than you know and we will miss you dearly.
