What a surprise when I walked into The Addison to visit my mother, Oakley Gerth. Mrs. Monson recognized me as I walked in. She asked me if I remembered her.............. Years years ago her husband and my dad worked together on the CNW RR.
I even believe the Monson's lived not too far away from my folks while I was growing up.
I did make sure to seek her out when I visited The Addison, she was sharp and it was so heartwarming to talk about the unique group of friends the conductors were on the railroad.
