Obituary of Dorothy C. Lambert

Dorothy C. Lambert, 97, longtime resident of Zion, IL, passed away peacefully on Thursday, April 4, 2019.

Dorothy was born July 20, 1921 in Zion, IL to Homer and Stella Green.  She attended Zion Preparatory College, graduating class of 1939.  On May 21, 1949, Dorothy married Ronald J. Lambert and together they raised four children.  She was employed with Great Lakes Photo Department in her earlier years, and then spent many years as a lunchroom cashier at West Elementary School in Zion, IL., until she retired.  

Dorothy loved the Lord and was loved by many.  She accepted the Lord at an early age and was a lifelong member of Christ Community Church.  She volunteered as a cook at Camp Zion, sang in the choir, she was a member of Bell Choir, and hosted Bible Club.  She loved her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was a good friend to all she knew.

Dorothy is survived by her daughters, Victoria Williams, Beth (Rob) Horton, and Laura (Michael) Buenik; grandchildren, Tony (Yashira Melendez) Lambert, Ashley Horton, Audrey Horton, Emma (Jameson) Peterman, Eli Goldberg and Eva Buenik; and 4 great-grandchildren, Jovette, Jarilise, Jayden and Jayce.

She was preceded in death by her daughter, Patricia Anne; her parents; her husband; and her brother, James Green.

Visitation will be held Friday, April 12, 2019 at Christ Community Church, 2500 Dowie Memorial Dr, Zion, IL 60099, from 9:00 a.m. until 10:00 a.m.  Funeral Service will begin at 10:00 a.m. Interment will follow at Mt. Olivet Memorial Park in Zion, IL.  In lieu of flowers, donations to Camp Zion, P.O. Box 32, Ellison Bay, WI 54210, would be appreciated.
