Eric and I wanted to send our deepest condolences to Jerry, Pauline, and the rest of the family. We felt fortunate to have known Tom over the years. We have many special memories with him. He was easy to talk to and fun to be around. It was clear how much his family meant to him and just as clear how greatly he will be missed. Still thinking of you all and hoping you can find peace and love in remembering Tom.

Jerry, I was saddened to receive notice from Dave Lapka about your father passing. He was way too young at 68. I always wondered what and how some of my past employees are doing. I hope I played a part in your life you were all so young at the time. I'll pray for him and your family.

Jerry - I'll always remember your Dad and the time he spent with me at Motorola. He taught me a lot about life, and helped to guide me and make me think about things beyond the moment, how to work with integrity, and how important it was to stick with school. Of course there was teasing, fun and games - but he was always there - doing things like making sure I had a ride when my car was broken down, or teaching me how to do my taxes when I had two jobs. I truly enjoyed my time with him. He made a difference to me, sorry for your loss.

Dad loved to watch me play pool. When I let him know I would be going to Vegas for the VNEA International pool tournament, he jumped at the chance to join me. He always had dreams of him and I going to Vegas together, now we were going to enjoy 10 days in paradise (8 for him). Well, we never lost a match with dad in attendance, including beating the ultimate champions in our very first match. The whole team shooting like champions. Dad had to leave on the 8th day, and over the next day lost 2 matches to end up 7th. A nice finish. Last year he came to Wisconsin's State tournament. Again, with him in attendance, we never lost a match and won the highest division going undefeated. It then occurred to our team, as best we can recollect, he never witnessed us losing even a single match! Can't ask for much more than that from a good luck charm. If you look at his picture posted, you can make out the pool lights in the background. This was from a banquet we had while in Vegas together.

It is with a heavy heart that i write this. I had the pleasure of working with Tom as he volunteered at the Zion Police Dept. He loved coming in and helping out no matter what we had him doing. He was such a pleasure and i enjoyed hearing him talk about his family and the trips he would take. He was such a nice man and I will miss seeing him every Tuesday at the P.D. I send my deepest sympathies to his entire family.

How sad I feel this morning. I remember Tom from Motorola. We became fast friends while working the distribution packing lines. Even though I have moved away, we still talked by email and occasionally by phone. His witty remarks will be missed greatly. My thoughts and prayers go out to Pauline and the whole Ring family. God Bless you All!

Dad, I love you so much and miss you so greatly already! When it is my time, I know you'll be saving me a seat right next to your 3rd base position at the table. I love you.
