Obituary of David R. Vidakovic

David Robert Vidakovic, 57, of Winthrop Harbor, died Sunday, February 10, 2019, with his brother by his side.

David was born July 21, 1961 in Waukegan and lived in North Chicago most of his life, moving to Winthrop Harbor in 2000.  He worked many years as an auto body technician.  David was an avid fisherman, he enjoyed playing the lottery, barbecuing, and watching Chicago sports teams.  David enjoyed being with his beloved rottweiler, Daisy.

He is survived by his siblings, Nancy (Jack Chulengarian) Stanley of Beach Park, Patty (Dave Acred) Beck of Fence, WI, Karen (Art) Gesky of Santa Maria, CA, Nick Vidakovic of Winthrop Harbor, Thomas Vidakovic of Waukegan, and Robert Vidakovic of Dallas, Texas; many nieces and nephews; and cousins, Edie (Ron) Kantola and family of Waukegan; and cousins Gary (Pat) Znidersic and family of Waukegan, Ken (Eileen) Znidersic and family of Kentucky, and Chris and Steve Sipos family of Beach Park.
                            
He was preceded in death by his father and mother, Joseph and Virginia Vidakovic; and brothers Joseph J. Vidakovic Jr., and William “Bill” Vidakovic.

A visitation will be held on Friday, February 15, 2019 from 5:00 until 8:00 p.m. at the Congdon Funeral Home, 3012 Sheridan Road, Zion.  A funeral service will be held on Saturday, February 16, 2019, at 10:00 a.m. at the funeral home with Rev. James Merold officiating. Interment will follow at Ascension Cemetery, Libertyville, Illinois.
