Obituary of Theodore B. Bomkamp
Theodore B. Bomkamp, 77, of Beach Park, IL passed away peacefully at home.
Theodore was born April 1, 1941 in Waukegan, IL to Theodore and Clara Bomkamp. On May 21, 1966 he married Joan Bradshaw at St. Anastasia Catholic Church in Waukegan, IL. He was a member of Our Lady of Humility Church in Beach Park, IL and worked as a Maintenance Machinist for Chrysler Corporation in Kenosha, retiring after 30 years of service. Theodore proudly served his country in the United States Marine Corps. He was a member of Mis-Shifts Car Club and the Lake County Farm Bureau. Theodore enjoyed antique cars, especially his prized 1958 Pontiac Chieftain. He liked Western TV shows and being surrounded by his family, especially his grandchildren. One of his favorite pastimes was spending time keeping his yard up to his standards.
Theodore is survived by his loving wife of 52 years, Joan; children, Cynthia Chambers, Joseph (Therese) Bomkamp and Michael (Heather) Bomkamp; grandchildren, Sage, Madison, Bradley, Kyle and Alyssa; sisters, Marilyn (Marvin) Shroyer, Janice (Jim) Fischer and Patricia Popoca; brothers, John and Robert Bomkamp and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and brothers, Thomas and James Bomkamp.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, January 17, 2019 from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Congdon Funeral home, 3012 Sheridan Road, Zion, IL 60099. Visitation will also be held on Friday, January 18, 2019 from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. at Our Lady of Humility Church, 10655 W. Wadsworth Road, Beach Park, IL 60099. Mass of Christian Burial will be held immediately following at 11:00 a.m. Interment will take place at Ascension Cemetery in Libertyville, IL.
