Obituary of Gregory Lee Robinson

Gregory Lee Robinson, 67, of Winthrop Harbor, IL, died suddenly on December 5, 2018 at home, with his beloved dogs by his side.

Greg was born October 25, 1951 in Waukegan, IL.  He married Donna Watson on May 27, 1972.  He was a Lake County Sheriff Deputy for 20 years, and spent the last 23 years as a Quality Supervisor at JST Corporation in Waukegan. Greg loved being in his Kentucky home with his wife and beloved dogs by his side. He enjoyed spending long days on his boat in Lake Cumberland. He loved to joke around and give his kids a hard time just for fun. He loved spending time with the people closest to him and for him friends were family too. Above all he was a kind and loving man who would do absolutely anything for his family. But there was always a special place in his heart for his “girls” (dogs) and love for all his “Grand dogs.”

He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Donna; children, David (Shelli) Robinson, Chris (April) Robinson, and Michelle (Chad) Snyder; grandchildren, Stephanie, Ashley, Ryan, Ryder, Tucker, Avery, and Finnley; great-grandchildren, Jayden, Presley, Dawson, Brooklynn, Brantlee, and Bentley; mother, Ruby Barnett Johnson; brothers, David (Brenda) Robinson, and Richard (Dawn) Robinson; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father, Bennie Robinson.

A visitation will be held on Wednesday, December 12, 2018 from 3:00 until 6:00 p.m. at the Congdon Funeral Home, 3012 Sheridan Road, Zion.  A memorial service with military honors to follow will begin at 6:00 p.m.
