Mr. Whiteside was my 5th and 6th grade teacher at H. R. McCall school in the mid-1960s when it was then in Waukegan. He was a great teacher and a fine man. I have never forgotten him.

Hello, I am writing to share a message of hope. First of all let me start off by saying I am sorry for your loss. My prayer for you and your family is that the God of all comfort provides you with the comfort that you need during this difficult time. Please read 2 Corinthians 1:3-4.

Mr. Whiteside was my 6th grade teacher at McCall elementary school in Beach Park.
He was by far my favorite teacher ever. I loved spending time with him and enjoyed staying after class to help him clap erasers and clean chalk board. I look back now and realize it was because I was looking at him like a father I never had. I knew by the way he spoke so enthusiastically about his kids that he was a great dad!!! He was one of those teachers that you read about in life stories that mold and shape you.
He was so important and special to me that I never stopped thinking about him. I am saddened that I didn’t know he died. I would have been there to show my support to his family.
1 Corinthians 13:13
Now, however, these three remain: faith, hope, love; but the greatest of these is love
As Paul explained to the Galatian congregation back in the first century....
Galatians 5:22
23..On the other hand, the fruitage of the spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faith,
23.. mildness, self-control. Against such things there is no law
Mr Whiteside produced all these ‘fruitage if the spirit’
Thank you Mr Whiteside
I will look forward to teaching YOU in the new world to come

Bob was a 6th grade teacher at McCall Elementary my first year of teaching 5th grade. I tell people that I shouldn't have been paid for what I did in the classroom that year, but it would have been much worse had I not gone to Bob for his advice and counsel. Sorry to hear of his passing.

Billibob was a special person in our lives, and became a Grandpa to me and my sisters. We learned to drive in “the old beater”, he reminded us to be good to our parents, and was proud of us as individuals. I was lucky to reunite with Billibob about 3 years ago... it was as if no time had passed. I am comforted by him finding his place in heaven but we will miss hime dearly.

Evidence of Bob's legacy continues on to this day---from the students he taught and from the experience that numerous classrooms benefited from with the Outdoor Education Program that he instituted and coordinated for several years with Waukegan Public Schools. I always enjoyed working with him. He also landscaped two of our homes; the last time that we were in Zion, we saw that his plans were still thriving. They had aged well and will continue to thrive for many years.
Our lives are much better for knowing him.

We wish to express our sincere condolences for your loss. Sadly, sooner or later we all have to deal with the loss of someone close to us. When that happens, we all look for a source of comfort as we grieve, help to ease the pain, the sense of emptiness. Revelation 21:4 speaks of a future time when all suffering and even death itself will be things of the past right here on earth. Think of being reunited with loved ones in a cleansed earth. May you find comfort in this and may it give hope for the future. For more information please visit JW.ORG

Dottie and family,
Deepest sympathy from your cousins in South Dakota. Even though I only met Bob a couple times it was clear he was a wonderful and loving father, grandfather and husband.
Dottie, I wish I could be there tomorrow to give you a hug. Please know we are praying for you and your family. Keep your memories close to your heart and remember them often. It's the best way to keep Bob alive.
Steve and sisters, Joan, Mary Jane and Ann Marie.

So sorry for you loss. Mr. Whiteside was my 6th grade teacher at McCall and was one of the best teachers I had, not to mention my favorite. He even included me with his family to attend Sunday school at First United Methodist Church. Much later in life, we met again at church, where he welcomed me and my family. Such a wonderful, kind person, who certainly made a difference in many lives.

Greg, Dave and Steve,
So sorry to hear about your Dad. Having been through this myself I know how difficult it is. Your Dad was a great guy...even when he was yelling at me for running across the back yard! I hope you can take some comfort in him knowing how much you all loved him and what a wonderful person we all thought he was.

Our entire family is saddened to hear of Bob's passing. Bob (aka "BilliBob" as affectionately known to our daughters) is a beloved friend and is regarded as family. We hold many wonderful memories in our hearts of times spent with Bob and Ursula, and later with Bob and Dottie, and also good times together including David & Greg & their families. Up north was a wonderful experience at Bob's beloved cabin! What began as a landscape project at our new home in Gurnee (1990) became a solid long-lasting friendship with our BilliBob. We love you dearly Bob, and will miss you greatly in this life, but we know for certain we will see you again someday. Peace, dear friend, until we meet again. You truly blessed our lives. Love & condolences to Dottie, David, Arlene & family & Greg, Robin & family & Steve, Shauna & family.
With deepest affection,
Dee & Joe Grecu, Amy, Erin, Lisa, and our entire family
