The guys at Benton Lumber Co. extend our sympathies to the family and friends of Carl Klawonn. We knew Carl from our earliest days in Zion. He and his extended family always made us feel welcome. Carl was a witty fellow with a ready smile and a good sense of humor. We will remember him as a hard worker and a devoted family man who often brightened our when he stopped by. He will be missed.

Uncle Carl is about eight years older than me. From my earliest childhood I can remember only good things about Uncle Carl. I could write a book of all the good times he spent with me as a child and teen ager. He spent a lot of time with me and taught me a lot of good things. He was one of the smartest people I have ever known. Anything he set his mind on doing, he could do it. As I have gone through life, I can not count the number of times I am doing something and it triggers a thought of the past with Uncle Carl and something he said or did.
One of my earliest recollections was when I was about four years old and he had a motor scooter and he would let me ride on the floor board and hold onto the handle bars. Too many more to list in this space. I am truly blessed of the Lord to have known Carl Klawonn and to be able to have him for my uncle.

We are so sorry for the passing of Carl from this life to the next - We know that he is in God's heaven and we are so happy for him, but his passing leaves a big hole in many lives he touched. We feel privileged to have know him for 30 plus years and count him as one of the most influential people we have ever met in our lives.
He was a kind, generous, and humorous man that we will forever miss.
Our condolences to the family - you are in our prayers.
Sincerely,
Mike McCoy

I am saddened to hear about the passing of Carl. I was lucky to have the privilege of working with him for more than 20 years. He will be remembered at Larsen Marine Service for a very long time as he was instrumental in the growth and success of the boat yard. We all have such wonderful and good memories of Carl. I hope you find peace in your fond memories of him as well.

What a great Man, Husband, Father and Co Worker, Carl interviewed and hired me over 17 years ago, over the years he taught me a little bit about a lot of thing. (He was the only one i ever met at the boat yard who could get sea sick, standing on the dock) he always spoke highly of his wife and kids. You will be missed my friend, Prayers of comfort for the family.
