Obituary of Anita L. Acosta
“The beautiful bride of a retired U.S. Naval Officer and the faithful Mother and rock of six God-Fearing children. She loved people and was the consummate friend.
She is Anita L. Acosta, 84, a daughter, a wife, a mother, a sister, an auntie, a grandmother, and a friend to everyone she knew.”
Anita was born January 27, 1934 in Tagudin, Ilocos Sur, Philippines. She married Alfredo Z. Acosta on September 14, 1957. Anita received a B.S. in Finance from the University of the East in Manila. She was a member of Our Lady of Humility Church in Beach Park. Anita was also a member of various senior bowling leagues and of the Tagudinian Association.
She is survived by her husband of 61 years, Alfredo Z. Acosta; daughters, Fredenita Acosta and Florecita Acosta; sons, Frederick L. Acosta I, Frederick L. (Theresa) Acosta II, Frederick L. (Lisa) Acosta III, and Frederick L. Acosta IV; grandchildren, Jasmine Acosta, Monique Acosta, and Rejoice Alibio; sisters, Leticia Lorenzana Ricafrente, and Generosa Lydia Lorenzana Benito; and cousins, Araceli Acosta Yambot, Lydia Somera Deretich, and Patricia Somera Sellers.
A visitation will be held on Thursday, September 20, 2018 from 6:30 until 8:30 p.m. at the Congdon Funeral Home, 3012 Sheridan Road, Zion, IL. A prayer service will follow at 8:30 p.m. at the funeral home. A Funeral Mass will be held on Friday, September, 21, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. at Our Lady of Humility Church, 10655 W. Wadsworth Road, Beach Park. Interment will follow at Ft. Sheridan Post Cemetery.
