Obituary of Ruby C. Potts

Ruby C. Potts, 91, of Zion, IL died September 2, 2018 at home.

Ruby was a former resident of Carbondale, IL and Waukegan, IL. Ruby, also known as “Mrs. Potts” and “Mrs. Ruby” enjoyed being out in the fresh air feeding the ducks, she loved animals and being around people.   

She is survived by her children, Dorrell Allen Potts, Iris Potts Kessler, William Louis Potts, and Melissa Lynn Potts; and many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Dorrell Clay Potts; and a young son, Eugene Clay Potts.

A funeral for Ruby will be held on Friday, September 7, 2018 at 6:00 p.m. at the Congdon Funeral Home, 3012 Sheridan Road, Zion, IL.  A visitation will take place at the funeral home from 5:00 p.m. until the time of the service.  Ruby will be laid to rest in southern Illinois at a later date.
