Obituary of Patricia A. Balmes
Patricia Ann Sikich-Balmes age 71, formerly of Beach Park, IL, passed away at her residence in Kenosha, WI on Tuesday August 7, 2018.
She was born in Waukegan, IL on October 23, 1946, the daughter of the late Paul and Emily Durant Niskala Patricia graduated from Waukegan Township High School. She worked for Fansteel Wire and Waukegan School District where she retired.
Patricia always enjoyed spending time with all of her brothers, sisters, nieces, nephews, children and grandchildren. She was a true giver and enjoyed many different hobbies including: crafts, cooking, baking, crocheting, cake decorating, ceramics, and traveling. She served as a Eucharistic Minister at St. Dismas, and also volunteered at all the church fundraisers, bazaars, and was the church funeral luncheon coordinator for many years.
Left to cherish her memories are daughters: Debra Lynn (Brian) Hunter, Susan Marie (Thomas) McGuinness, Diane Marie Milne, Donna Ann (Keith) Swanson, nine grandchildren and three great grandchildren, step children: Lorrie Simplot, Leisa Balmes, Beth (Dan) Lawson, Rick (Jamie) Balmes, David (Denise) Balmes, seven step grandchildren and five great step grandchildren, two sisters, Donna Self, Mary Manley, Paul (Kathy) Niskala and Edmond (Monica) Niskala, and several cousins, nieces, and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her late husband Richard Balmes Sr., grandson James Ian McGuinness and daughter Judith Ann Sexton.
A visitation will be held on Saturday August 18, 2018 at St. Dismas Catholic Church 2600 Sunset Ave. Waukegan, IL from 9:00 a.m. until time of Mass at 10:00 a.m. Interment will be held privately at Ascension Catholic Cemetery in Libertyville, IL. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Hospice Alliance 10220 Prairie Ridge Blvd. Pleasant Prairie, WI 53158.
