Obituary of Charles E. Bareika

Charles E. “Chuck” Bareika, age 78 of Waukegan, IL, passed away on Sunday August 5, 2018 at Highland Park Hospital surrounded by his loving family.

He was born in Racine, WI, on September 8, 1939, the son of the late Anthony and Marguerite Wartchow Bareika.

Chuck was raised for most of his life in Kenosha, attending Mary D. Bradford High and he served in the National Guard. On April 2nd 1976, he married Margaret
“Marge” Schulz in Waukegan, IL.  He began his career as a machinist at American Motors Corp, and later working for Johnson Outboard Marine finishing his career at Illinois Tool Works until his retirement.

Chuck loved spending time with his family especially his loving wife of 42 years, camping, woodworking, gardening and spending the winters in Florida.

Surviving Chuck is his wife Marge, six children; Roxanne (Rick VanHorn) Bareika of Bristol, WI, Bryan (Kareen) Bareika of Beach Park, IL John (Stephanie) Hogsett of Gurnee, IL, Eric (Deb) Hogsett of Ramsey, MI, Stacy (Tom) Behl of Rome, WI and Charles Bareika Jr. of Kenosha, WI, ten grandchildren and eight great grandchildren, two brothers, Tom Bareika of Cleveland, NY and Jamie Bareika of Kenosha, WI, two sisters; Betsy (Bob) Pelicky of Antigo, WI and Pat Lundy of Kenosha, WI.  He is further survived by other relatives and many friends.

A memorial gathering will be held for Chuck on Sunday August 12th at the Congdon Funeral Home 3012 Sheridan Rd. Zion, IL from 2-4 p.m.. Interment will be private.
