Obituary of Flora Bell Smith

Flora Bell Smith, 85, longtime resident of Zion, IL went home to be with the Lord on June 27, 2018.  

Flora was born in Itawamba, MS to Dewey and Gracie McFadden.  She was a member of Antioch Baptist Church in Golden, MS.  Her hobbies included sewing, quilt making, decorating and crafts.  She enjoyed going to the nursing homes in the area, along with her husband, to entertain the residents by singing and playing the guitar.

Flora is survived by her sons, Robert and Ronald (Tamy) Smith; grandchildren, Tanya, Tiffaney, Robert Jr., Randy, Lori and Jacob; great-grandchildren, Jaylen, Mason, Preston, Lexi and Sydney; sister, Ornell Farris; brothers, Marvin and Charles McFadden and many cousins and family members.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband of 56 years, James Doyle; son, Rickie Smith; brother, Orbie McFadden and daughter-in-law, Cathy Smith.

Visitation will be held on Friday, July 6, 2018 at Congdon Funeral Home, 3012 Sheridan Road, Zion, IL from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. with funeral service following at 11:00 a.m.  Entombment will take place at Mt. Olivet Memorial Park.
