Obituary of Ana De La Rosa

Ana M. De La Rosa, 89, of Waukegan, IL died on Monday, November 12, 2012 at Northwestern Lake Forest Hospital. She was born March 25, 1923 in Guanica, Puerto Rico, moved to Chicago in 1946, and to Waukegan in 1948. Ana was a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother and enjoyed playing the piano, doing needlepoint, and cooking for her family. Survivors include her children Manuel De La Rosa Jr. of Waukegan, IL; Gilbert (Bonnie) De La Rosa of Waukegan, IL, Dolores Lower of Waukegan, IL, Anthony De La Rosa of AZ, Carlos De La Rosa of AZ, Rebecca VoVillia of Gurnee, IL, and Albert (Mary Ann) De La Rosa of Waukegan, IL; sixteen grandchildren; fifteen great-grandchildren; and many other relatives in Puerto Rico, New York, NY, and Milwaukee, WI. She was preceded in death by her husband of 62 years Manuel De La Rosa Sr. on January 27, 2009. A memorial Mass will be held on Wednesday, November 14, 2012, at 10:00 a.m., at St. Anastasia Catholic Church, 624 Glen Flora Ave., Waukegan, IL.
