Obituary of Luella M. Parks

Lu Parks, 89, passed away at her home in Winthrop Harbor on Tuesday, May 22, 2018.

She leaves behind her husband of 70 years, Edward T. Parks, two daughters Linda B. Eng and Deborah L. Korb, son-in-law Brendan R. Korb, four grandchildren, four great-grandchildren and Kitty Parks – the family cat.

She was preceded in death by her son, Jon Loring Parks, son-in-law Peter D. Eng, parents George and Rose Johnson and eight siblings.

She loved chocolate, margaritas, Tom Jones, bowling, golfing, working in the backyard, riding her motorbike, traveling to Maui, Las Vegas and Marco Island, playing cards and dominos, crocheting and making her special deviled eggs for family and friends. The aching loss we feel at her death is countered with the knowledge that she is no longer in any pain.

Having chosen to be cremated, a memorial service for her will be held at 2:00pm, Saturday, June 16 at the Congdon Funeral Home, 3012 Sheridan Road, Zion.
