Obituary of Robert "Bob" Stockwell
Robert “Bob” Stockwell
Born November 09, 1957
Died May 26, 2018
Bob died surrounded by his loving wife, daughter and close family.
Bob was born in Zion Illinois to Mary and Stanley Stockwell and graduated from Zion Benton High School in 1976.
Bob was a truck driver before a sudden illness forced him into early retirement.
Bob was known for his “Bob-isms” we so lovingly called them. Once he told us that when you go to a rest area you become a visitor. His famous one was his love for the phrase “its all good”. Bob lived a life based on that philosophy because he lived a modest, happy and calm adult life.
He was so very proud to be a step dad to his wonderful “little hot rod”
As far as being a man and husband, you couldn’t find a better one.
Bob loved motorcycles and he always dreamed of driving one to Alaska. He loved airplanes and secretly wanted to become a pilot. He loved his bow and that was sitting next to his bed when he died.
His loving smiling furry friend Scully will forever miss him. Scully and he shared a unique bond and Bob always said, “He was part of the crew”.
He was happily married to the love of his life, Kelly for almost 17 years. They shared many happy times together. She will miss him dearly as they were best friends.
Bob loved and cherished his relationship with his God Jehovah and was studying the Bible to someday be baptized one of Jehovah’s Witness and to worship Him side by side with Kelly. He leaves behind an entire world wide brother hood of Witnesses.
Bob leaves behind his wife Kelly, his step daughter Carrie Stephens (Vince Velardo) his sister in law Marie Adler (Don) brother in law Joseph Miltimore (Bryan Hansen) and Steven Miltimore (Tim Budd) along with his nephew Joey Gelbudas and very special friends Ed and Bonnie Kaucnik.
A memorial gathering will be held at the Congdon Funeral Home 3012 Sheridan Rd. Zion, IL on Friday June 1, 2018 from 5-7 with a service at 6:00 p.m..
Bob will be asleep in death for just a little while then he will awaken into a paradise
John 5:28
Do not be amazed at this, for the hour is coming in which all those in the memorial tombs will hear his voice and come out.
