Obituary of Sue Chong Kliora

Sue Chong Kliora, age 79, of Beach Park, IL, left us to be with her Lord, Jesus on Sunday, April 22, 2018 after a long courageous battle with cancer.

She was born in Kim Chun, Korea on February 3, 1939, and was also known as Chong Suk.

She came to the USA in 1968, and has been a resident of the Waukegan area since 1971.

On July 6th, 1971 she married Peter Kliora. Sue was employed by Abbott Laboratories for 15 years and retired in 1995.

She was a kind and gentle soul that had no hidden agendas.  Her heart was always in support of those who were mistreated, especially children.  She loved animals, especially her dog Snoopy and she loved gardening. Sue will be sorely missed by all of her friends that loved her very much.

She leaves behind her husband of 47 years, Peter, her sister-inlaw, Kyung Sook Park, who was as a daughter to her and her husband and Sue’s brother Jung JuSeop, her very special niece, Inhae Jung all of Daegu, Korea, two brothers, Chung Ki Sup, Jung Han Sup and a sister Chong Jew Hee and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her father Chong Mon and her Mother and one sister, Chung Jung Hee.

“Sue was a dear heart, and will be missed very much by all who knew her.”

A visitation will be held for Sue at the Congdon Funeral Home 3012 Sheridan Rd. Zion, IL on Thursday April 26th from 5-8 p.m. and will continue on Friday at the funeral home from 9:00 a.m. until time of service at 10:00 a.m..  Entombment will follow at Warren Cemetery Chapel in Gurnee, IL.
