Audrey Anita Carrington age 62, departed this life on Thursday, April 12, 2018. She was born on October 26, 1955, to Mamie Selby and John Poole in Norfolk, VA. She married the love of her life Roy Carrington on July 26, 1972 and was blessed to be in this union for 45 years. She was a loving devoted wife and mother.

Audrey Carrington had the biggest heart a person could have. She had a great gift for giving. When it’s said, “Girls are made of sugar and spice and everything nice”. This is the recipe she was made of. Audrey was a very beautiful person to know. She had a passion for cooking and loved cooking for her family and baking cakes. Her cakes were just as sweet as she was and universally loved. Audrey would make her daily rounds of calling those dear to her heart. You could always count on receiving kind loving words, counseling, coaching, cheering, words of wisdom, prayer, and healing. If that is what was needed.

 Cherishing her memories is her loving husband Roy Carrington of Volo, IL, her daughter April Carrington of Volo, IL, son Roy Carrington Jr. (Sara) of Gilbert, AZ, two grandsons John and Jordan Carrington Smith and one granddaughter Mikaela Carrington Gilmore, her niece Rashita Wilson and nephew Raymond Wilson of Virginia in whom she raised in Illinois. She had one living aunt, Brenda Carney, four sisters, Francine Small (Doug), Costeneah Putney (Greg), Vernell Reed (Diane), Marie Johnson (Smitty), six brothers, John Poole Jr. (Ruth), Charles Poole (Tracy), Chris Poole (Patricia), Vernon Poole (Tonya), Loedean Poole (Phyllis), Harry Poole (Carol). Along with a host of nieces, nephews, great and great-great nieces and nephews. Audrey Anita Carrington was proceeded in death by her father John Poole and mother Mamie Selby.
