Obituary of Charlotte Mae Johnson

Charlotte Mae Johnson, 90, of Beach Park, IL died on March 13, 2018.

She was born June 28, 1927 in McLeansboro, IL.  Charlotte was a member of MeadowRidge Church of Zion, IL.  Following her retirement from VR Wesson in North Chicago, both she and her husband Jack traveled world-wide with Chuck Paxton’s Senior Park District Travel Club.  She also enjoyed traveling to follow her grandchildrens’ sporting events.  Charlotte also volunteered her time as Sunday school teacher and in the nursery at church.                                        

Survivors include her children Dennis (Ann) Johnson of McLeansboro, IL, Charles T. (Emily) Johnson of Lake Forest, IL, and Dianne (Eddie) Moore of Beach Park, IL; eight grandchildren Andrew (Sherra) Johnson, Benjamin (Dawnelda) Johnson, Christin (Rob) Nichols, Dawn (Brent) McKown, Tiffany (Guy) Meikle, Adam (Deborah) Johnson, Nichole (Jim) McAskin, and Rebecca Moore; twenty-one great grandchildren; sister-in-law Charlene Vaughan; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband James "Jack" Johnson; grandson Brent Charles Johnson; parents Charles and Mae Vaughan; two brothers Cecil W. Broyles, and Leon Vaughan; and an infant sister.

Visitation will be Thursday, March 22, 2018, from 10:00 until 12:00 noon at the Congdon Funeral Home, 3012 Sheridan Road, Zion, IL followed by a funeral service at 12:00 noon with Pastor Bruce Allen officiating.  Entombment will follow at Mt. Olivet Memorial Park, Zion, IL.  Memorials to MeadowRidge Church have been suggested.
