Vee, your kindness and inquisitiveness inspired all of us in our Small Faith Group. We began together as Lent began in 1999, sharing our faith and our lives. We haven’t gathered in a year, but the bonds remain. I will miss you, knowing that you are no longer here, but there is no doubt in my mind that you are rejoicing as you stand in the face of God, delighted to return home. Say hello to Chuck for us.
Condolences to her wonderful family. We heard about you often.

Our family met and became close friends with the Welshes in Tucson, AZ in the early 1970’s when I was about 8 years old. Younger than Joey Welsh is now! My sister Crystie and Michelle were in the same class and had become friends. As it turned out, each of the Welsh kids had a corresponding Wright kid of the same age, and In the same classes at school, save for Michael and Betsy who were too little to go to school. Our moms became fast friends, as did our dads, and all of us kids. We were so young that our parents decided that the kids should call the adults “Aunt” and “Uncle”, so Veronica has been my Aunt V~ for nearly my whole life.
The absolutely amazing thing is that, even though we moved from Tucson to Texas in 1974, and the Welshes moved a few times since then, and my mother died long ago, Aunt V~ maintained a relationship with every single one of us. And not just a Christmas card kind of relationship. I mean she has been an active part of our lives. I cannot begin to express how much difference her unconditional love has made in my life. I love you Aunt V~, as you well know. You will be sorely missed!
