Obituary of Dorothy Mae Lisanti

Dorothy Mae Lisanti (nee Oskins), 99, of Waukegan, formerly of Winthrop Harbor, passed away January 23, 2018, at Vista East Medical Center. She was born on February 15, 1918, in Russell, IL, where she lived until her marriage to Arthur Louis Lisanti, of New York City, N.Y., on May 29, 1943, then moving to Winthrop Harbor, where they lived for many years.  She was employed at Besley Clinic in Waukegan for 32 years as a Medical Secretary and Office Manager for a group of six physicians. Dorothy graduated from Warren Township High School in Gurnee and Waukegan Business College in Waukegan.  She was a devoted animal lover, always having several pets at one time, and rescuing many others. Dorothy is survived by her son, Bruce Lisanti (Deborah) of Davis, CA, daughter Susan Lisanti of Waukegan; granddaughters Kristin Kaplan (Philip) of Beach Park and Kimberly Hedges Solano (Luis) of Arlington Heights, Emma Lisanti and Anna Lisanti of California; and great granddaughter Marcella Solano. She was preceded in death by her husband Arthur in 1966; her parents Bertha Elizabeth Rockwell and Lemuel Norman Oskins; and her brother Robert Oskins (Elsie). There will be no visitation, and interment will be private.  If desired, donations may be made to Spay & Stay or Save-A-Pet, both of Grayslake.
