Obituary of Marjorie Ellen Bouwens

Marjorie E. Bouwens (nee Rohrdanz), age 80, of Zion, IL, peacefully passed away on Monday, January 22, 2018 at Vista Care Center.

Marjorie was born in Waukegan, IL on March 12, 1937 to Leroy Rohrdanz and Magdalena Trusky. She loved doing arts and crafts, especially crocheting.  She also enjoyed cooking and baking and most of all, spending time with her friends and family.

Marjorie is preceded in death by John Bouwens Sr. (her husband of 53 years and love of her life).  She is remembered by her five children; Debbie Griggs, Roxanne Bouwens, John Bouwens Jr., Brian Bouwens Sr., and Tina Sheppard, her grandson Alexander McIntosh, of whom she had special guardianship, along with her other 17 grandchildren and 28 great grandchildren, her brother Charles Rohrdanz, countless nieces and nephews and cousins as well as many friends. A visitation will take place on Wednesday, January 31st from 5-7p.m. at Congdon Funeral Home, 3012 Sheridan Rd., Zion, IL. A Prayer service will be held at 5:00 p.m.  Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions to the family is appreciated.
