Obituary of Juan 'John' Esparza

Juan ‘John’ Esparza, 65, of Waukegan, IL passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his loving family on November 27, 2017 after a courageous battle with cancer.

John was born on March 19, 1952 in Zion, IL.  John served in the United States Army from 1972 until 1974.  He was employed by Abbott Labs, retiring after 36 years of service.  He was an avid Brewers Fan; he enjoyed bowling and  snowmobiling, spending time up north at his ‘party palace’ in Pickeral, WI.

John is survived by his wife of 42 years, Randi; daughter, Patricia Esparza; son, Michael Esparza; grandchildren, Jordan and Izzy Esparza; sisters, Silveria (Amador) Vazquez, Lupe (Steve) Rynkiewicz, Dolores Uribe; brother, Trinidad Esparza Jr., and numerous nieces, nephews and other family members.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Trinidad and Estefana Esparza; sisters, Louisa ‘Lucy’ Gallegos and Julia Chapa; sister in law, Mary Louise Esparza; and brother in law, Sergio Chapa.

Visitation will be held Friday, December 1, 2017 from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and on Saturday, December 2, 2017 from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service at 12:00 noon, Congdon Funeral Home, 3012 Sheridan Road, Zion, IL.
