Obituary of Barbara Zorzy

Barbara “Barb” Zorzy, 74, of Kenosha, WI passed away peacefully on November 9, 2017 at Brookside Care Manor.

Barb was born on December 19, 1942 to Joseph and Hildegard Zorzy in Waukegan, IL.  She graduated from North Chicago Community High School in 1960.  She was a long time employee of Abbott Labs, retiring after 30 years with the company.  Barb owned and operated Used to be Slim’s Bar in Kenosha, WI for 3 years.  She was a loving mother and Nana; her family meant everything to her.  

Barb leaves behind to cherish her memory, her daughter, Lisa (Jeremy) Gibson; granddaughter, Kalynn; sister, Joanne (Zorzy) Penley and several nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Hildegard; brother in law, Harold Penley; brother, Bill Zorzy; and sister, Mary Jean Zorzy.

The family would like to express their gratitude to Brookside Care Manor and Heartland Hospice and their staff for the loving care they gave Barbara.

Visitation will take place on Wednesday, November 15, 2017 at The Well Church, 9001 17th Avenue, Kenosha, WI from 11:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. with a funeral service at 12:00 p.m.  Interment will be at Mt. Olivet Memorial Park, Zion, IL.  In lieu of flowers, contributions to the family to be used for the education of her granddaughter would be appreciated.
