Obituary of Betty Mae Hopkins

Betty Hopkins, a longtime resident of the area, died Monday the 2nd of October peacefully in her home. She was 94, born November 13th 1922 in Waukegan. She was active in the American Legion Ladies Auxiliary, Swedish Glee Club Singers Wives Club and also taught Sunday school for many years at York House United Methodist Church.

She enjoyed working into her 70’s at E&E Pattern Works in North Chicago, IL as an Office Manager and Bookkeeper.

She is survived by her son, Richard D. Hopkins, daughter-In-law Lisa Hopkins, sister-in-law Pat Hopkins, and many nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her husband Richard J.”Dick” Hopkins and her two sisters Peg Pederson and Eileen Littner.  

A private funeral service was held in her name on Thursday, October 5th 2017.
