Obituary of Robert Steffenhagen

Robert “Bob” Steffenhagen, 76, of Wadsworth, IL, died August 18, 2017 at home.

Bob was born September 15, 1940 in Chicago, IL and lived in Monroe, WI for many years before moving to this area.  He married Sandra Ames on June 25, 1960 in Waukegan, IL.  Bob worked in construction for many years before retirement.  He was a huge fan of Elvis and reading western books.  He enjoyed collecting and restoring hotrods, especially his Mustangs.

Bob is survived by his wife of 57 years, Sandy; children Robert “Bobby” Jr. (Mary) Steffenhagen, and Jackie Steffenhagen; five grandchildren, Jessica (Alin) Radu, Nicole Steffenhagen, Ashlie Steffenhagen, Davis Kennedy, and Theresa (Justin) Kennedy; five great-grandchildren, Brian, Travis, Madilyn, Rowan, and Alex; and two brothers, Rick (Patty) Steffenhagen, and Donnie Steffenhagen.

He was preceded in death by his father and mother; son, Brian Steffenhagen; and two brothers, Kenny Steffenhagen, and Terry Steffenhagen.

A visitation will be held on Thursday, August 24, 2017 from 9:00 a.m. until 12:00 noon at the Congdon Funeral Home, 3012 Sheridan Road, Zion.  Interment will follow at Highland Memorial Park, Libertyville.
