Obituary of Ceferina V. Peel

Ceferina V. Peel, 89, of Waukegan, IL died August 13, 2017 at Rolling Hills Manor in Zion.

Ceferina was born August 28, 1937 in Cabalian, Leyte, Philippines.  She married John D. Peel at Saint Josephs Church in Olongapo City, Philippines.  Ceferina retired from Abbott Laboratory in North Chicago, IL.  She was a member of both Immaculate Conception Parish and Our Lady of Humility Parish.  She enjoyed being a member of the Brunswick Bowling League, Moose Lodge, Our Lady of Perpetual Help of Lake County, and the Filipino American Association and was also a Retired US Navy Spouse. 

Ceferina is survived by her children, Rosa Coleman, Brigido (Ligaya) Lim, Melchor (Mary) Peel, Belinda Balay, Elena (Primo) Tayor, and Reynaldo (Deborah) Peel; sons-in-law Montano Abrazado, and Ricardo Jarencio; grandchildren, Jennifer Moreno, Jessica Vasquez, Jalena (Arturo) Ramirez, John (Jodelyn) Vasquez, Michael Coleman, Rolando (Mayra) Balay, Russell (Imelda) Jarencio, Mary Ann (Aaron) Stroud, Christina (Rennell) Austria, Byron Peel, Jerilyn (Kenneth) Leonard, Christopher Peel, Justin (Jori) Peel, Cererina Tayo, Jonathan Peel, Brigido Lim Jr., Jordan Peel, and Jeremy Peel; 33 great-grandchildren; siblings, Alfonso Sibonga, Jose Sibonga, Brigida Vasquez Falcon, and Manang Inday Vasquez.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Elilalia Sibonga and Patricio Vasquez; her husband of 46 years, John D. Peel; daughters, Victoria Jarencio and Lorna Abrazado; and a grand-daughter Marie Beth Balay.

Visitation will be held on Friday, August 18, 2017 from 5:00 until 8:00 p.m. at the Congdon Funeral Home, 3012 Sheridan Road, Zion.  Funeral Mass will take place on Saturday, August 19, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. at Our Lady of Humility Parish, 10655 W. Wadsworth Road, Zion.  Interment will be private for the family.
