Obituary of David Piktel
David “Little Dave” Piktel, 68, of Winthrop Harbor, IL died on Monday, July 10, 2017 at home.
Dave was born January 10, 1949 in Waukegan. In the late 60's he worked for the North Chicago Post Office, then later for 20 years at Polk Brothers in Waukegan. Recently he was self employed as a painter in the this area. He was a member of Zion-Benton Moose Lodge #667, Zion, IL, South Of The Border (SOB) Muskies Inc., and General Casimir Pulaski Post #25 PLAV.
Survivors include his long time partner Debbie; and children Joel Piktel of Skokie, IL, Ryan Piktel of Waukegan, IL, Stephanie (Jeff) Bruebach of Kenosha, WI, and Katie (Mike Pye) Griffin of Winthrop Harbor, IL. He was also “Poppy” to Chelsey, Collin, and Lily and uncle Dave to numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by brothers Bill Burton, Bob Burton, Don Burton, and Jim Piktel; and his parents Joseph Piktel and Marie Dahl.
A memorial gathering and celebration of life will be held on Tuesday, July 18, 2017, from 4:00 until 6:00 p.m. at Zion-Benton Moose Lodge, 41517 N Sheridan Road, Zion, IL, followed by the defending circle at 6:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers memorial donations to the family have been suggested.
