Obituary of David Rockingham

David P. Rockingham Sr. known by many as “Rock” passed away peacefully on June 30, 2017, at Northwestern Medicine Lake Forest Hospital in Lake Forest, IL. 
David was the youngest of two children. He was born to Erma and Josephine Rockingham on July 11, 1936 in Waukegan, IL. After graduating from Waukegan High school in 1954, he attended New England Conservatory of Music. Rock went on to travel the country with the “David Rockingham Trio” and his record ranked #62 on the Billboard Top 100 chart in 1963. David also maintained a reputable career at the North Chicago Police Department for 25 years, and retired as a Detective in Internal Affairs in June of 1995. 
He is survived by the love of his life and wife of 62 years, Anita Yvonne (Beedie), two sons; David Jr. and Gregory (Cynthia), five grand children and thirteen great-grand children. 
He was preceded in death by his parents Erma and Josephine, and sister Patricia (William). 
The Rockingham’s would like to thank you all for your thoughts and prayers. At the request of the family, there will not be any services at this time. David Rockingham Sr. "Rock" imprinted many lives and he will always be remembered for his larger than life presence.
