Obituary of Dorothy M. Wright

Dorothy M. Wright (nee Mifflin), 101, of Zion, IL and Punta Gorda, FL died June 13, 2017 in Punta Gorda, FL.

She was born May 29, 1916 in Chicago, IL and came to Zion in 1918. She married Philip C. Wright on April 8, 1949 at Christian Catholic Church. She was a member of Christ Community Church of Zion, IL, Bonnie Brook Baptist Church of Waukegan, IL, and Punta Gorda Alliance Church of Punta Gorda, FL. Dorothy sang in the Mifflin Sisters Trio for 69 years with her sisters, Jessie and Charlotte. She was a talented organist & pianist and a member of church choirs for years.

Survivors include her children, Vicky (Karen) of Waukegan, IL, Peter (Becky) of Beach Park, IL and John (Beth) of Lafayette, CO; seven grandchildren, Jennifer, Leanne, Christopher, Nicole, Lauren, McGregor (Katie), and Samuel; three great-grandchildren; sister-in-law, Juneve; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Philip; parents, Charles and Annasie Mifflin; and siblings, Margaret, Edward, Jessie, Eugene, and Charlotte.

Visitation will be held Saturday, June 24, 2017 from 9:00 until 11:00 a.m. at Christ Community Church, 2500 Dowie Memorial Dr., Zion, IL with a funeral service at 11:00 a.m. Interment will follow at Mt. Olivet Memorial Park, Zion, IL. Memorial donations to Camp Zion have been suggested.
