Obituary of Geraldine Keating Bookstein

Geraldine ‘Geri’ Keating Bookstein, 87, of Zion, died June 8, 2017 at Rolling Hills Place.

Geri was born October 19, 1929 in Chicago, IL to Jim and Frances Keating.  She was married to Harry Bookstein for 42 years and together they lived in Wilmette, IL. After his death, Geri also lived in Hainesville, IL. She was a member of St. Patrick’s Church of Wadsworth, IL, was a Cub Scout Leader and Commissioner, a volunteer at Skokie Valley Hospital, in Skokie, IL, and a member of Great Age Club in Hainesville, IL.  

Survivors include her son, Michael (Danette) Bookstein; five grandchildren, Kristin and Kevin Bookstein, Kara Spencer and Jarred and Danielle Bonngard; four great-grandchildren, Hayden, Elijah, Patrick and Gage; and sisters, Marlene Lohrmann and Patricia Burke.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Harry; parents, Jim and Frances Keating, and brothers in law, John Lohrmann and Mike Burke.

Visitation will be held Saturday, July 1, 2017 from 9:00 until 10:00 a.m. with a memorial service following at 10:00 a.m. at St. Patrick’s Church, 15000 W. Wadsworth Road, Wadsworth, IL 60083.  Interment will be private for the family.  Memorial donations to a charity of your choice have been suggested.
