Obituary of Jeremiah Court Lapish

Jeremiah Court Lapish, 94, of Winthrop Harbor, IL died Sunday, May 28, 2017 at Rolling Hills Manor, Zion, IL.

He was born May 28, 1923 in Toledo, OH. He married the love of his life Rosemary McLean on August 24, 1946. She preceded him in death in 2006. Together, they owned and operated Falcon Marine Inc. In Waukegan. Jeremiah was a past commodore of the Waukegan Yacht Club, was a member of Christ Episcopal Church in Waukegan, IL, Evanston Elks Club, Waukegan Kiwanis Club, Small Business Association of Illinois, was on the advisory committee for College of Lake County welding program, and a plank member of PT Boats Inc. in Germantown, TN. Jeremiah served with the United States Navy during WWII on PT boats. He cherished his family and had a love for the water.

Survivors include his children, Stephen (Patricia) Lapish of Waukegan, Cindy (Jeffrey) Tippet of Winthrop Harbor, Marysue (Michael) Jaacks of Winthrop Harbor, and Wendy (Bruce) Hegberg of Chicago; seven grandchildren, Joseph (Emily) Lapish, Melissa (Jacob) Anderson, Stacey (Patrick) Steuer, Nicholas (Lindsey) Tippet, Jessica, Eric, and Abigail Hegberg; and seven great-grandchildren, Jordan, Tristen, Devin, Jaden, Everret, Kenna, and Elli.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Arthur and Mae Lapish; one brother; and one sister.

Visitation will be held Thursday, June 1, 2017 from 5:00 until 8:00 p.m. at Congdon Funeral Home, 3012 Sheridan Rd., Zion, IL. Funeral services will be held Friday June 2, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. at the funeral home with Rev. Eileen Shanley-Roberts of Christ Episcopal Church of Waukegan officiating. Interment will follow at Mt. Olivet Memorial Park, Zion, IL. Memorial donations to Christ Episcopal Church, 410 Grand Ave., Waukegan, IL 60085 or to PT Boats Inc., 1384 Cordova Cove, Germantown, TN 38138 have been suggested.
