Obituary of Elizabeth Dix

Elizabeth (Betty) Dix 84, of Zion, died peacefully on Wednesday, May 10, 2017 at Rolling Hills Manor surrounded by her family. Betty was born November 23, 1932 in Waukegan and lived in Zion all of her life. She attended Memorial United Methodist Church. Betty retired from the Zion State Bank, after over 40 years of employment. 
 
Betty was a member of the Zion-Benton Women of the Moose Lodge Chapter 859 for 45 years. She successfully went through all of the chairs, achieving both   
Senior Regent and Star Recorder status. She was also a member of the Moose Golden Oldies and the Friday morning breakfast club.
 
Betty enjoyed spending time with her family and many friends and loved to entertain. Betty enjoyed traveling with her husband George across the US visiting friends and family.  
 
Betty is survived by her two sons, Robert (Gail) Dix of Kenosha, Wisconsin and Richard (Karen) Dix of Antioch, Illinois; five grandchildren, Heather (Sean) FitzGerald of Boise; Idaho, Kevin (Anna) Dix of Barrington Illinois; Jonathan (Brittany) Dix of Lindenhurst Illinois; Scott Eggers of Marinette, Wisconsin and Michael Eggers of Kenosha, Wisconsin; eight great-grandchildren, Sean, Brendan and Liam FitzGerald of Boise, Idaho; Anderson and Katie Dix of Barrington Illinois; and Logan, Camden and Addison Dix of Lindenhurst Illinois and many nieces and nephews. She is also survived by her loving childhood friend, Pat Gilbert. 
 
Betty was preceded in death by her loving husband of 58 years, George L. Dix, their daughter, Elizabeth Ann Dix and her parents, Joseph and Elizabeth Dolan.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, May 13, 2017, at 11:00 a.m. at Memorial United Methodist Church, 2935 Sheridan Road, Zion,
with Pastor Kwadwo Ntim officiating. Interment will follow at Mt. Olivet Memorial Park, Zion. Visitation will be Saturday, May 13, from 10:00 a.m. 
until time of services at Memorial United Methodist Church. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Memorial United Methodist Church or Zion-Benton Moose Lodge would be appreciated.
