Obituary of Soon Im Eriksen

Soon Im “Sue” Eriksen, 84, of Beach Park, IL died on Sunday, May 7, 2017 at Journey Care in Glenview, IL.

She was born September 25, 1932 in Seoul, South Korea.  She came to this country in 1961 from Japan where she was raised and moved to Illinois in 1965 from Massachusetts.  On July 6, 1973 she married Bjarne Eriksen of Mundelein in Waukegan and together they lived in Waukegan and Beach Park, IL.  She had been employed by American Hospital Supply and Cherry Electric in Waukegan and Fansteel in North Chicago.

Survivors include her husband of 48 years Bjarne; children Kimberly Eriksen-Bermudez (Marcus) of Hutto, TX, Terry Bennetts of Zion, IL, and Patrick Bennetts of St. Petersburg, FL; and seven grandchildren Lucas and Ericka Bennetts, Levi, Ava, and Erin Bennetts, and Elisa and Vidal Eriksen-Bermudez.
She was preceded in death by one son Gary Bennetts.

Visitation will be Friday, May 12, 2017, from 5:00 until 8:00 p.m. at the CONGDON FUNERAL HOME, 3012 Sheridan Road, Zion, IL.  A funeral service will be held on Saturday, May 13th, at 10:00 a.m. at the Congdon Funeral Home.  Interment will follow at Northshore Garden of Memories, North Chicago, IL.
