Obituary of James H. Hardin
James H. Hardin "Doc" went to be with his Lord, Easter Sunday, April 16, 2017.
Born and raised in Vina, Alabama, he moved North after serving in the U.S. Army for the Korean War. After completing his service in the war, he settled in Waukegan where he raised his family. Doc worked at Johns Manville as a machinist for 30+ years until his retirement. He was a huge sports fan loving all sports but especially the White Sox and college football.
He is survived by his four children, Debra (Martin) Connor, Tina (Steve) Dietmeyer, Kelly (Joe) Drapalik, Kraig (Jillian) Hardin; 8 Grandchildren, Jennifer (Tom) Lachermeier, Erik (Linda) Rose, Michael (Brianna) Rose, Brad Dietmeyer, Jacob (Colleen) Dietmeyer, Ellen Dietmeyer, Mackenzie Hardin, and Jacob C. Hardin; 4 great grandchildren; Logan, Madeline, Abigail, and Walter; and many Nieces and Nephews.
Funeral service will be held Saturday, April 22, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. at Congdon Funeral Home, 3012 Sheridan Rd., Zion, IL. Visitation will begin at 10:00 a.m. with the service immediately following.
