To the Sisson Family,
We are sadden to hear of the passing of Mr. Grant Sisson, your husband, your father, your grandfather, however, we are joyful in knowing that he is with His heavenly father, a place that he so wished to be.. Mr. Grant Sisson was so much more than the Godly, warm, kind, caring, generous, intelligent and witty servant and friend that so many of us came to know. Mr.Grant Sisson lived his life walking the talk when it came to his faith in Jesus Christ. He was and still is such a model of a man who stood up for and exemplified his faith in our Good Lord each day. When thinking of Mr. Grant Sisson, I often recall his warm greeting of "Peace to thee", to which I replied "Peace to thee be multiplied". He would then offer some precious advice like " keep challenging those young ones" or "keep pushing them to Christ". He will be dearly missed, yet the impact of his life and his legacy will carry on forever.
We trust the Good Lord will surround you all with more love, compassion, comfort and peace as you celebrate his "going home". The Martínez family.

Barbara and family,
We wish we could have spoken to him one more time. Grant always inspired us to greatness. He was one of several influential people who inspired us in our involvement in politics, home schooling, and (eventually) in starting our own business. We hope to be the kind of influencers for the Kingdom that (you, Barbara) and he have been to us. Blessings as you move forward in this different season of life. We look forward to seeing our friend Grant in eternity.

Grant was a true friend to Kari and myself and of these two things we are confident. 1. Today Grant is alive and living well with his savior Jesus Christ. 2. If he had no monetary gain he would have still lived and given like every day might be his last.
Grant's character and actions helped many people become better servants. His testimony that Jesus Christ is the savior and that all people need to know this truth has changed generations. Thank you Sisson family for your love and sacrifice for many years and in many ways.
Grant walks, runs and jumps, he dwells where mortal man would not dare step. He is perfected in the presence of God.
We will miss you but for a short time, Heaven is in our sights.

Akers family with Grant at Barbara at 'Craters of the Moon'. Many people asked us...did you hear Grants retelling of what happened at Craters of the Moon. Well if YOU have heard it once, WE heard it ten times !! As shared in the obituary, the 'point' of that story was that GOOD NEWS must be shared, and apart from everything else Grant regularly reminded me, the IMPERATIVE, the RESPONSIBILITY, the JOY of SHARING the Good News seemed to always rise to the top of his Agenda !

I am guessing that in Grants first 100 days in heaven, the words he will hear most often are:
'Thank you for giving to the Lord. I am a life that was changed.
Thank you for giving to the Lord. I am so glad you gave. '
You may have heard Grant telling the story of our visit with them to the Craters of the Moon. The point of that story was that upon waking up and seeing how the black volcanic rock had been transformed overnight because of the snowfall, this was GOOD NEWS and needed to be shared.....and that seemed to be the driving force of Grants life 'GOOD NEWS MUST BE SHARED'.
He often spoke of how the work in Africa was not just an interesting thing to watch, but a RESPONSIBILITY to fulfil....and he and Barbara did all they could to get it fulfilled, for which they will never be forgotten.
May Barbara and the family left behind know that Grants fingerprints are ALL OVER SOUTHERN AFRICA. He left a few footprints, but his fingerprints are there for all to see......THANKYOU for giving to the Lord !
Soon and very soon, we are going to see the King
No more crying there, we are going to see the King
No more dying there, we are going to see the King

I didn't know Grant. But I am from the local area. A friend of mine posted his obituary on FB. I read it with deep appreciation of a wonderful man who Knew and lived "a full" life. Thank you for writing such a thoughtful and beautiful tribute.
