Obituary of Mary Lou Messick

Mary Lou Messick, 81, of Zion, IL died Friday, February 3, 2017 at home. Mary Lou was born November 24, 1935 in Ishpeming, MI. She retired after 35 years at the Navy Exchange and enjoyed playing Bingo. Survivors include her daughter, Debra Olsen; 4 grandchildren, Christine O’Malley of IL, Brion Keith O’Dell II of WI, Brooke Vaughn of NC, and Lynn O’Dell of WI; many great-grandchildren; siblings, Gail Tarvinenen and Keith Perry; son-in-law, Brion K. O’Dell; good friend, Charlie Burleson; and beloved dog, Annie. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ronald Messick; children, James Dale, Priscilla O’Dell, Raymond Allen; her parents, siblings, Diane Perry, Robert “Grubby” Perry, and James P. Perry; and son-in-law, Oliver Olsen. Services will be private for the family.
