Obituary of JoAnn Larson

JoAnn (nee Wiatrowski) Larson, of Winthrop Harbor, IL passed away suddenly but peacefully, on January 31, 2017. Born in Waukegan, JoAnn attended high school in Zion, IL and graduated from Illinois Wesleyan University in 1973. She retired from Jewel Foods after 20 years at 35. She worked beside her husband Rick in their Masonry business they have owned for over 30 years, and also worked at Larsen Florist for over 20 years as a Bookeeper/Designer. JoAnn was an avid bowler in Lake County for years and carried a 190+ average. She loved golfing as a member of the Glen Flora Country Club for over 10 years and was a champion in her class, as well as Husband & Wife Couple of the Year more than once. She loved to hit a good jackpot every once in a while. She was the jackpot of Rick’s life and all she met. JoAnn is survived by her husband of 33 years, Richard; daughter, Coranna “Corie” (Nathan Sekulic) Larson; brother, A. Gerald (Carole) Wiatrowski; brother-in-laws, Gerald R. (Kay) Larson and Jeffery A. (Wendy) Larson; and numerous nieces and nephews and cousins. She is preceded in death by Albert and Cora Wiatrowski. Visitation will take place on Monday, February 6, 2017, from 11:00 a.m. until 1:30 p.m. at Congdon Funeral Home, 3012 Sheridan Road, Zion, IL. Funeral Service will take place at 1:30 p.m. with interment to follow at Ascension Cemetery, Libertyville, IL.
