Obituary of Leticia Jastrom

Leticia Jastrom, 50, of Zion, IL died January 7, 2017 at home with her family by her side. She was born March 17, 1966 in Mexico. Leticia was very religious and an active member of Parroquia Lutherana Sagrado Corazón in Waukegan, IL. She was a good cook, a very giving person and loved gardening and tending to her flowers. Her family and dogs, Max and Jasmin, were most important to her. Survivors include her husband, Gary; step-sons, Christopher and Daniel; father-in-law, Ron Jastrom; siblings, Juan (Ana) Cortez, Maria Dolores (Fancisco) Lopez, Fermin (Marina) Cortez, Martin Cortez, and Monica (Edwin) Palancia, all of Waukegan, IL; brother-in-law, Tom (Tracy) Jastrom; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Hector and Maria Aurora Cortez; brother, Antonio Cortez; and mother-in-law, Judy Jastrom. The family would like to thank Dr. Bandealy and his staff for the care and compassion they provided Leticia and the family. A visitation will take place Wednesday, January 11, 2017 from 5:00 until 8:00 p.m. at Congdon Funeral Home, 3012 Sheridan Road, Zion, IL. A funeral mass will take place Thursday, January 12, 2017 at 5:00 p.m. at Trinity United Lutheran Church, 658 Grand Ave., Waukegan, IL. Interment will be private for the family.
