Obituary of Leslie Schneider

Leslie V. Schneider, 91, of Beach Park, IL went to be with the Lord on Thursday, December 15, 2016 at Rolling Hills Manor Nursing Home in Zion, IL. Les was born June 29, 1925 to Joseph and Eva Schneider in Eau Claire, WI. He had one sister, Delores. On Christmas Day, 1947, he married Eleanor Haugen in Eau Claire. They moved to Beach Park in 1952 where they raised their family. Together they were members of Lakeview Church for many years. Les worked at V.R. Wesson in Waukegan for 31 years. Les enjoyed playing his harmonica and accordion, and fishing. He leaves behind his wife of 69 years, Eleanor; children Larry (Terry) Schneider of Wadsworth, IL, Peggy (Bob) Lahti of Weslaco, TX, and Calvin (Debbie) Schneider of Winthrop Harbor, IL; eight grandchildren; and fifteen great-grandchildren, with another on the way. He was preceded in death by his parents; his sister Delores Halblieb; and his daughter Judy McCreary. Visitation will be Thursday, December 22, 2016, from 5:00 until 7:30 p.m. at Lakeview Church, 1821 Sheridan Road, Zion, IL. A funeral service will follow at 7:30 p.m. with Pastor Les Martin officiating. Interment will be Friday, December 23rd, at 11:00 a.m. at Pineview Cemetery in Beach Park, IL.
