Obituary of Nicholas Pastella

Nicholas Anthony Pastella Sr., 71, of Winthrop Harbor passed away on Tuesday, September 11, 2012, surrounded by his loved ones, at Vista Medical Center East in Waukegan, IL. Nick was born in New Castle, PA on September 17, 1940. In 1962 Nick was united in marriage to Judith Ann Cavalier. Nick and Judy were married 50 years. He retired from the Department of Defense at Ft. Sheridan as Chief of Supply after 36 years of service. He also worked for North Shore Sanitary District for 11 years. Nick was a shareholder and avid Green Bay Packers fan. Nick is remembered by his loving wife Judy; his two children Nick Pastella Jr. and Cathy Pastella of Winthrop Harbor, IL; four grandchildren Cera Marie (Belzer) Globis and her husband Jeffrey R. Globis of North Carolina, Kelcy Nichol, Ryder Lee, and Kennedy Elizabeth Jimi Belzer of Winthrop Harbor, IL; and his brothers John and Samuel Pastella and families. Visitation will be held on Thursday, September 13, 2012, from 9:30 until 11:30 a.m. at the CONGDON FUNERAL HOME, 3012 Sheridan Road, Zion. A funeral service will follow at 11:30 a.m. at the funeral home. Interment will be private for the family. Nick's family wishes that in lieu of flowers donations be made to the American Heart Association.
