Obituary of James A. Snodie

James A. Snodie Sr., 84, of Beach Park, IL, died on Friday, October 28, 2016 at Holy Family Medical Center in Des Plaines, IL. James was born March 25, 1932 in Wauwatosa, WI. He served with the United States Army, retiring in 1973 after 20 years of service and has lived in this area since. He was a member of Prince of Peace Lutheran Church of Waukegan. James also retired from Civil Service at Glenview, IL. survivors include his wife of 60 years Violet; children James A. Snodie Jr. Of Waukegan, IL, Rose E. Busch of Waukegan, IL, Susan Snodie of Racine, WI, Joseph (Linda) Snodie of Beach Park, IL, Lori (Herman) Mueller of Waukegan, IL, Theodore (Heidi) Snodie of Waukegan, IL, Nancy Snodie of Beach Park, IL, and Andrew Snodie of Beach Park, IL; twelve grandchildren; thirteen great-grandchildren; and sisters Janet (Don) Lantz of Felch, MI, and Ellen Wigbe of Gaylord, MI. He was preceded in death by one son Robert Snodie; sisters Florence (and the late John) Ponchard, Jacqueline VonDell, and Judith Kermeen; and one brother Orvie (and the late Jeannette) Snodie. Graveside committal services will be held on Friday, November 11, 2016, at 10:00 a.m. at Pineview Memorial Park, Beach Park, IL. A memorial service will follow at 11:30 a.m. at Prince of Peace Lutheran Church, 2720 N McAree Road, Waukegan, IL.
