Obituary of Lyle Springer

Lyle Springer, 96, of Beach Park, IL died Monday, September 26, 2016 at Vista Medical Center East in Waukegan, IL. Lyle was born December 29, 1919 and was raised in southern Illinois. He then moved to Beach Park, IL where he was a long time resident. Lyle owned and operated L&C Appliance in Zion where he sold and repaired appliances. He enjoyed tinkering and fixing everything and anything, loved woodworking and camped when ever possible. Survivors include his wife, Marjorie of Bradenton, FL; one daughter, Phyllis Slay of Winthrop Harbor, IL; step-children, Tom (Liz) and Julie; grandchildren, Christine Parker, Patricia Rivera, and Pamela Medina; great-grandchildren, Sarah Parker, Derek Parker, Sonya Rivera, Kelly Rivera, Amanda Bartolo, and Kyleigh Hocker; great-great-grandchildren, Jasiaha, Jayvien, Giovanni, Adrian, and Mia-Elyse; step-grandchild, Amber; step-great-grandchildren, Nathan and Natalie; and brother, John of Phoenix, AZ. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Alice; grandson, William “Billy” Slay; parents, Ralph and Addaline; and 9 siblings. A funeral service will take place Friday, September 30, 2016 at 12:00 p.m. at Congdon Funeral Home, 3012 Sheridan Rd., Zion, IL. Friends may greet the family at 10:00 a.m. until the time of service at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Mt. Olivet Memorial Park, Zion, IL.
